Sola cube is one of Usaginonedoko's representative products, and Sola lume is a portable lamp created by combining its acrylic encapsulation technology and Ambientek's lighting. The first three products, white bird feathers, sponges, and leaf veins, will be available exclusively at Living Motifs. The natural objects, captured at beautiful moments and trapped in acrylic, glow softly on the emotional light and harmonize in the space as beautiful objects even when the lights are off during the day.
The name “Sola,” which is also for Sola cube, means “space,” or all things in the universe, and is derived from the Latin word lumen, meaning “dim light” in Italian.
The acrylic parts are carefully crafted one by one by Japanese craftsmen. Various innovations have been made in the size, balance, and layout of the enclosures, based on the premise that when enclosed in cylindrical acrylic, the enclosures inside appear curved and large.
The veins of the leaves are laid out in such a way that they seem to flutter and fall from above, and the sponges are boldly trimmed from the resin, resulting in a different appearance from that of ordinary acrylic-encapsulated specimens.
The light, which is set at a color temperature that best shows off the encapsulated specimens, can be dimmed in three levels. The light is made of stainless steel with an antique brass finish, and each part is beautifully finished, down to the details on the back of the product. The light can also be left on permanently when placed on the charging stand, and its IP66 waterproof rating makes it suitable for use in bathrooms and outdoors.
