Extra steps are taken to manufacture consistent quality springs that will resist fatigue. Choosing the light-duty option will give you a lighter spring rate for more comfortable driving. Heavy duty will provide a stiffer spring rate to accommodate the added weight of bumpers, side steps, a winch and roof rack. Many states have laws that limit the maximum height of a lifted vehicle.
