It is well known that the Honda Civic Turbo is very prone to heat soak, especially when using the stock intercooler. Due to the high charge air and cylinder temperatures caused by excessive heat soak, detonation risk increases. The prevalence of these problems increases with aggressive driving and/or higher power outputs. With its dense 26.5 x 3.5 x 7.25" 550+ horsepower rated bar-and-plate core, the PRL Motorsports intercooler upgrade lowers charge air temperatures while increasing potential airflow. Our intercooler core increases surface area by 85% and internal flow by 83% to allow optimal cooling and airflow. Billet machined aluminum end tanks maximize efficiency while looking as smooth as they flow! This intercooler uses factory mounting locations and all factory air ducts and shrouds along with our billet-machined end tanks. No cutting, fitting, or trimming is necessary to retain compatibility with the majority of our PRL product range.
